Nécrologie de James Neil Ward
Jimmy passed away peacefully into the arms of Our Lord and Saviour, surrounded by his family at the Manoir Sacré-Coeur, Mansfield, Quebec on Tuesday, July 16, 2024 at the age of 88. Beloved husband of Elizabeth “Betty” Sullivan, always and forever “the apple of his eye” for 68 years. Loving father of Sheila (Brian Kelly), Hal (Lois Vanderhaeghe), Heather (Ted Day), Patricia (Michel Vaillancourt), Kevin (Joanne Belec) and late infant Joseph. Precious Pappy of 15 grandchildren (late Kent Ward) and 11 great grandchildren.
Jimmy was a loving son of the late Harney Ward and the late Alma Bertrand. Dear son-in-law of the late Eric Sullivan and the late Carmel O’Hare. He was a dear brother of Joan (late Ken Vaillant) and Raymond (Carole Laroche). He is predeceased by his brother Edwin (late Jean Durocher) and his sister Joyce (late Romuald Watson).
Jimmy was most fervent in his faith, having never wavered from his Catholic beliefs. He lived his life to the fullest with loving dedication to his family, together enjoying snowmobiling, skiing, camping, cottage life, hunting, fishing and of course, flying his airplane. His passion for life is now carried on through his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Moreover, Jimmy was dedicated to his Church, being a member of St. Peter’s Church Parish Council and the Finance Committee for many years and a long-standing member of the Knights of Columbus beginning in his teenage years. Furthermore, Jimmy’s people skills made him a good fit on Municipal Council as well as a member of the School Board for many years.
In his daily work, Jimmy was a dedicated general insurance broker who always strived to offer excellent personal service to his many loyal clients throughout the vast Pontiac region.
For the final three years of his life, Jimmy resided at our local facility of Manoir Sacré-Coeur in Mansfield, Quebec. We will be forever grateful for the expert and loving care Jimmy received from all the marvellous staff members who contributed each and every day to his overall well-being.
