Eric and I are saddened at Laura's passing -- but are glad to hear she didn't suffer.
We have wonderful memories of Laura -- and of Blair. They welcomed us warmly to the Steele Line when we moved here in spring of 1989. We didn't know anyone here on "The Line", and they were always so cheerful, encouraging, welcoming -- and also very helpful to us two newcomers. When I started the Steele Line Ladies Cookie Exchange so as to meet our community of neighbours, Laura was a keen participant. We all took turns hosting, and going to her and Blair's home, Memory Lane Farm, was always special, where cookies, a square, and a cup of tea were always offered.
We are just glad we knew these special, loving people.
