Nécrologie de Fred Desabrais

It is with heavy hearts that Fred’s family announces his sudden passing on November 9, 2017.
Fred lived his life under his own terms and was wholeheartedly a competitive player in this game of life; he was not one to sit on the sidelines. 

He was well known across the Ottawa Valley from his many years of playing hockey and fastball and he would often share many stories of those years.  He will be missed by the regulars at coffee.   He will be remembered by his good friends made over the years collecting and selling antiques.  He spoke fondly of each of you and you all held a special place in his life.  He will be dearly missed by his wife of 52 years, Marilyn Scott, his four children, Dave (Debbie Bain), Diana (Ray Curley), Dan (April Bailey), and Don. He loved and cheered for all his grandchildren, Ryan (Emma), Matt, Natasha, Nick, Izzy, Colby, Addison and Bailey.

He leaves behind his brother Eddie (Joan Coyle) and his sister Claire (Roger Dubois). Predeceased by parents Bella and Michael, his brother Gerald and his sister Barb.  He was proud of the Pontiac and his community of Quyon.  He will be fondly remembered by many.

Friends and family may pay their respects on Friday, November 17, 2017 in St. Mary’s Church, Quyon, Quebec starting at 10 a.m. followed by funeral mass at 11 a.m.  Interment St. Mary’s Cemetery.

You are also invited to offer condolences and share memories with the family at a reception at Gavan’s Hotel, Quyon following the interment. In lieu of flowers, donations in Fred’s memory to Shawville & District Minor Hockey or Quyon Sports and Recreation would be appreciated.
