I am sorry to see that Genevieve passed away. Last I heard she was in the old age home. I met her twice, once at the funeral of her son Bernard (a very tragic occasion), and again at the funeral of my father Joe Cahill in 1994 at St. Anne's at Calumet Island.
I appreciated very much that Genevieve had volunteered, as a member of the parish, and cousin by marriage to my Dad, to do the Scripture readings at my Dad's funeral. She did a great job!
A life fulfilled. May her soul rest in peace and may perpetual light shine upon her. condolences to the family

Blake, Brian, Brent, Kyle and all the family. Our sincere condolences in the loss of your precious Grandma. Mrs. Cahill held such a special place in my heart. She taught me in my first years of school. I always admired her compassion, her faith and her style. I always referred to her as "the classy lady" I still have many of the small bibles and trinkets she gave me. I hold them dear to my heart as I do all my memories of her. RIP Mrs. Cahill.

Genevieve was such a lovely lady. When she was well, she would drop into my boutique just for a hug and a visit, when she came to Shawville. Sometimes we would have a prayer together, and often a little cry for the loved ones we have lost.
A true lady in every sense of the word. She will be missed. My sincere sympathy to all of her nieces, nephews, and family.

Genevieve (Mrs Cahill to me), has been a friend of my Mom's since childhood, neighbours as children, they both attended teacher's college together and remained friends forever, she entered my life as an adult about 30 years ago, I will think of her every March 5th, I will think of her everytime I use Aloette moisturizer (she claimed to be her secret), she will remain in my heart. I had the honor of having Mrs. Cahill and her daughter Linda as teachers in the old Campbell's Bay Elementary School in the 70's. She and Linda were very caring teachers whom took the time to bring out the best in all of us.
