Passed away peacefully in hospital, Shawville, Quebec on December 1, 2011 at the age of 87 years. Beloved wife of the late William James Hanna. Loving mother of Robert (Valerie) and Mavis (Alex). Loving grandmother of Jennifer (Brian), Stephanie (Pat) and Erin. Proud great-grandmother of Abigail, Dylan & Teegan. Dear sister of Claire (Robert Moore), Vi (late Mervin Robitaille), Jean (Clarence Zimmerling), Dora and Elsie (Duane Monaghan). Predeceased by siblings Douglas, William, Reuben (Velma), Muriel (Elwood Storey) and Melvin (Joyce). Sadly missed by sisters-in-law, Hildred (late Mervin Stewart), Edith (Russell Elliott), Mary (Mike Wall), and predeceased by Dora (Ken Hutchison). Doris was a Life member of the Shawville Curling Club, and was ever present during the annual community bonspiel. Presently Junior Deputy Minister of the Grand Orange Lodge of Quebec, and Recording Secretary LOBA 1033, Shawville, and was past Most Worshipable Grand Mistress of the Orange Lodge of Quebec and also of Canada. She was an also an avid card player. The family wishes to thank the staff at the Shawville hospital for their compassionate care. Friends may call at W. J. Hayes & Sons Funeral Home, 134 Centre Street, Shawville, Quebec on Saturday, December 3, 2011 from 7-9 p.m. and on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. There will be no visitation on Monday. Funeral Monday in St. Paul’s Anglican Church, 530 Main St, Shawville at 12:30 p.m. Interment Village Cemetery. Donations to St. Paul’s Church or Pontiac Community Hospital Foundation would be appreciated.
