Life Legacy
Mary was called home to God, peacefully in hospital on Friday, January 23, 2015 surrounded in the love of her four granddaughters. Adored mother of Jim and his wife Patti and Wendy. Much loved grandmother of Ashley (Eric), Emily (Derek), Natalie (Matt), Jamie, Megan and Nick and great grandson Henry Schwarz. Predeceased by her beloved husband Donald, cherished granddaughter Melissa, sister Marjorie and brothers John and Donald. Survived by her sister Anna and many nieces and nephews. Mary was a career federal government employee for 34 years. She and Don retired to her family home in Norway Bay, Quebec. In retirement she enjoyed running her bed and breakfast and craft shop. She loved playing bridge and the company of her lifelong friends in the Pontiac. Mary was a lifelong member of the St. Andrews Knox United Church in Bristol, Quebec, member of the UCW and the Womens Institute. Friends may call at the Hayes Funeral Home, 134 Centre St., Shawville, Quebec on Wednesday, January 28, 2015 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Thursday, January 29, 2015 fro m 12:00 to 1:15 p.m. Funeral service and reception will be held in St. Andrews Knox United Church, Bristol, Quebec on Thursday, January 29, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Ottawa Heart Institute, C.H.E.O or St. Andrews Knox United Church. Thank you mom and nanny for your unconditional love. You will always be in our hearts.
