It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Roy Harold Nugent in his 89^th year on Wednesday, June 12, 2024 at Shawville hospital surrounded by family.  Loving husband of Edith Philippe for 69 years.  Proud father of Michelle (Robert Chestnut), James (Cathy), Lee (Marlene), Lorraine (Mitch Warden), Gerald (Lisa) and Paul (Sandra) and predeceased by infant twins in 1961.  Grandfather of thirteen grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and great great-grandfather of one.  Survived by his sister Dorothy Monette, sisters-in-law Denise Morgan, Margaret Philippe, Suzanne Parson, Lysette Philippe and Elaine Nugent.  Survived by many nieces and nephews.  Predeceased by brothers Errol, Glen and Robert.  Also predeceased by many brothers and sisters in law.

Friends may call at Hayes Funeral Home, 1040 Clarendon Street, Quyon, Quebec on Tuesday, June 18, 2024 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.  Funeral to follow in Wesley United Church, Beechgrove, Quebec at 11 a.m.  Interment Zion United Cemetery, Upper Eardley.  Reception to follow in Luskville Community Centre.   A special thank-you to the staff at Shawville hospital for their care and compassion.  Donations in Roy’s memory may be made to the Zion United Church Cemetery or Pontiac Community Hospital Foundation – Long Term Care.
