My Dear Mr. Manwell,
I so enjoyed meeting you, working with you and getting to know you during my time at the MRC Pontiac. I appreciated your input as Mayor of Portage du Fort, you didn't speak loudly but when you had something to say, people listened. I considered you my friend and I will miss you. I remember the day the tug boat was delivered to Portage, the extra work Mr. Manwell put into making sure it would be perfect, not sure everyone realized the time and dedication he gave to his little community but I did.
To the family I offer my thoughts and prayers, he will never be forgotten.

So sorry hear about lost of Gerry, ours heart and soul goes out all the Family and Friends, Gerry was a very great man ,so nice talk with him and always had smile.and loved his Family all his heart ,as loved him too,God Called Another Angel Home,May You R.I,P Gerry.

Memories of Uncle Gerry include his great physical strength. how we could talk about God and politics with great respect, his visits at Christmas and how he demonstrated what a moral man would do. Would be nice if the good men and women of Portage would create a tribute in memory of his service...something low key as he would wish.

My thoughts and prayers are with you. I made many visits to Portage du Fort to visit my Grandma and Grandpa Dagg. The Manwells were part of my treasured memories. Barry, Brent, Murray and Lori I always referred to you as part of my family. You were like my brothers and sister. Uncle Jerry you will be missed. Say hi to the love of your life, Aunt Pat for me. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Thus gentleman had a heart as big as Portage. Would never see anyone go without. Or if you needed a shoulder he was there. Or if you just needed to be set straight he did that to. But in the nicest way. My deepest sympathies to you all.
