My deepest condolences at such a difficult time.
Shawn has had such a memorable impact on so many people’s lives including mine .
He was my first love and the first to break my heart .
We met before he became “Big Man” … but even then at 15 yrs old he was sweet , silly, loving and protective . We called each other “Tootes” and “Peanut Butter and Tomatoes “ . He loved to make Catelli meat sauce with extra meat and pasta . He would write me letters and bring them to my window late at night to apologize for whatever trouble he had gotten himself into . He was definitely my weakness and he knew I would forgive him . I love that health and fitness became his passion at an early age and he stuck with it !
Memory is a way of holding on to the things you love, the things you are , the things you never want to lose …. you were well loved Tootes and we all weren’t ready to lose you yet.

To the family and to my gym friends,
We all share this deep sadness felt in our hearts, Shawn definitely marked each and every one of us, made us stronger, better, happier people. I met Shawn when he was still a kid teaching Martial arts with his Dad, I brought my children and ended up joining the gym. One of the first women members and have loved every single class. We helped each other, I painted his logo on the wall and he would push me to train harder, excel, believe in myself.
Shawn had a big heart, a kind, caring compassionate man, who touched me and will stay with me. I think of him every morning when I'm working out and I will continue to hold his spirit with me. Gone way too soon, but never never never forgotten. I will miss him tremendously!

My heart just breaks for Shawn’s entire family. What a terrible loss for you all! Shawn spent some time bouncing at our Bar, “Johnny K’s” and I’ve got to tell you I always felt very comfortable when he was there…..nobody messed up when Shawn was around. He and John had a special relationship and I hope they’ve been able to meet up again. Rest easy Shawn. You will never be forgotten!

Shawn was a wonderful trainer and I have fond memories of my time working with him. He used to call me Smokey and would say "come on Smokey, get on the big b**tch" which was the stair climber with the huge steps that he knew I hated with passion. He would always push you to do more because he knew you could. I remember picking up Rylan in the mornings to bring him to daycare with Aiden. He will be missed by all those who knew and loved him. Rest in peace, Shawn! May the memories of such a gentle giant comfort family and friends.

This is a goodbye I never imagined saying. The void in my heart now that you’re gone is irreplaceable. When I was with you, I felt that is was where I’m supposed to be.
Your kindness and your sense of humour was like no other. You always made me laugh with all the nicknames you would come up with but most of all, I’ll miss the sound of your voice when you would simply call me “Yours.”
You were my lover, my partner and best friend. You fiercely protected me and wiped away all my tears. Your hugs and cuddles with the pups felt like home and would make any troubles melt away. You will always be my “Superman” and I would do it all over again in this life and the next. My Angel on earth is now in the Sky. I hope you’ve found peace, I love you Shawn.

"Gentle Giant" I referred to him as. A smile as wide as his chest, hands as large as his heart. There was nothing he wouldn't do when he saw a friend suffering and he could help in any way. A smile, a bear hug a 5 foot lift off the floor to make you see sense and to get a laugh, he would do it. One of a kind, too soon, too short of a life but....so many memories to mention. Love you buddy and your best friends, your dogs. Until we meet again, keep that smile and arms open... the world is lacking because of your absence but your memory will be remembered always. It’s been many years since I have seen Shawn but I know that if we had crossed paths we would reminisce about that family vacation to Shediac that I was lucky enough to tag along on. We were about 10 years old. We had a lot of good times in the neighbourhood.

This hits hard, although we didn’t keep up regular contact after he moved back to shawville he always found his way into my thoughts or conversations I was having with others. Because of his caring attitude towards others.

This was such gut-wrenching news and saddens me beyond belief. What a tragic loss! I met Shawn when he first came to inquire about publicizing his new gym. Heather A and I were his first customers. Shawn was not only a teacher of his passion but he dug deep inside us all to bring out the very best. A dear, loyal and loving friend to so many.
