I grew up with Eddie, right across the road from him, he's one of the first memories of any person that I have outside my immediate family. We explored the entirety of the O'Brien farm and played games - well, when Eddie wasn't doing chores, which wasn't too often, he knew how to work. I'm sorry Eddie went so soon.

We are so saddened to hear of Eddie's passing. We have known he and his family for several decades as they contracted to farm our acreage out in Chichester. He would always pause his sun-up to sunset working the farm, climb down from his tractor and come talk to me when I was up at the farm at Green Lake.I will always fondly remember our chats. Growing up on our little street, I have fond memories of Eddie. He had a great sense of humour, we all remember his dog named "Askim". He put on quite a show for us when it came time to killing pigs or chickens. This really was the highlight of the summer.
As I moved away and came back home to visit I was awakened many early morning by the sound of him starting the tractor. He worked hard.

I have know the O'Brien family for some years.. Eddie was always there to help his fellow neighbours whether it was with cows , equipment repairs or custom work. He was always up for a chat over a cup of tea about farming trends and ready to offer advice from his years of experience. Eddie was always quick to lend a hand at the annual Chapeau Fair, sending his son Justin down to the farm..Go get that tractor Justin, he would say, we need to put up that corral.
Eddie's legacy will live on through his family.
Rest Easy Eddie, the cows are in good hands.
. As the saying goes.. A Day of Duty Done, a Day of Rest Begun.
