Nécrologie de Helen Morris
It is with regret that the family announces the death of Helen Morris. Helen died peacefully on February 16, 2023 at the Manoir Sacré-Coeur in Fort-Coulonge, Quebec in her 85th year. Daughter of the late Stephen Morris and the late Frances Hayes, Helen was the cherished sister of Carmel (James Harrington), Wallace, Maureen, John (Diva Migrino), Donna-Marie (late Lawrence Matte), and was predeceased by her sister Norma (late Michael Sullivan). She is dearly missed by her nieces Gail, Bianca, and Alison and nephews Jerry (late), Michael, Greg, Stephen, Sean, James, Nicholas, and Jason, her great nieces and nephews, and many friends.
Helen will be remembered as a kind and caring person that dedicated her life to helping others not only during her 30 years as a teacher in Montreal, Ottawa, and Pembroke but also in taking care of her family, and by volunteering in her community and at her church. She specialized in primary and special needs education and had a real ability to spot talent and bring out the best in others. Her calm and quiet demeanour was a ruse, anyone who knew her well would attest to her sharp wit, her fierce intellect, her determination, and independence. Helen lived her life fully and definitively. May she now rest in peace.
