Nécrologie de Patrick Racine
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of “Our Hero” Patrick Peter Racine. After a tiring battle with cancer, Pat passed away on the morning of Sunday, February 5th 2023 in the Pontiac Community Hospital at the age of 59. He leaves behind the love of his life and best friend Barbara (nee Ballard), his children whom he was very proud of, Jessie (Joe), Trish (Travis) and Cody (Shannon).
Survived by his mother Geneva Racine (nee Blaskie) and mother-in-law Barbara (Ted). Predeceased by his father Lionel Racine. He leaves behind his brothers and sisters; Sonny (Wendy), Kenny (Diane), Colette (Wayne), Pauline (Ray) and in-laws Debbie (Eddie). He will be missed by his grandchildren; Owen, Chloe, Allanah, Kayson, Raylee, Rose and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nephews and great-niece along with many, many friends.
Pat was a hard worker who took pride in everything he did. He worked at Dufresne for many years and loved his “Work Buds”. When not in his loader at work, you could find him working on his “man shed” or making sure the house and landscaping were on point. He was a very proud Papa who enjoyed spending time with his grandkids. Always a smile on his face and always a loud cheer in the crowd. He looked forward to volunteering at the Shawville Fair and Oktoberfest every year and catching up with everyone.
Travelling was one of his favorite things to do with the love of his life and best friends. He was happiest when surrounded by family and friends whether it was a chat over coffee at JJ’s, a ride on the ATV, trips to the camp with the boys or just sitting on the deck enjoying the weather. Pat’s laugh and vibrant energy were contagious and you couldn’t help but have a smile on your face anytime he was around.
May that smile never fade and the memories live on. He will be forever missed.
Special thanks to Dr. Vander Stelt and team and staff of the Pontiac Community Hospital and Gatineau cancer centre.
