Nécrologie de Janet Hamilton

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Janet Hamilton, on Monday, December 5, 2022 at the age of 72 years. She was a devoted and loving mother to Scott and Cindy (Tim Thompson). Proud grandmother of Jeffrey, Taytum, Ivy and Lauren. Predeceased by her parents Glen Atkins and Betty (nee Melegi), sister Jeannie (Donnie) and fiancé Brent Acres.

Janet was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, USA and moved to Charteris, QC to begin her career in farming. Janet happily retired 7 years ago from the Health Care Industry and moved to Shawville to be closer to her children and grandchildren.

The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Janet. She loved quiet evenings at home playing cards, crosswords, Bingo and Yahtzee. She will be remembered for her quick wit, her endearing smile, and her devotion to her grandchildren. Above all, her renowned strawberry freezer jam.

Her loved ones will continue to honour her legacy by living their lives to the fullest.
Friends may call at Hayes Funeral Home, 134 Centre Street, Shawville, Quebec on Thursday, December 8, 2022 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.  Funeral service will be held in the chapel on Friday at 11 a.m. followed by a reception. In her memory, donations can be made to the University of Ottawa Heart Institute.
