Nécrologie de Cheryl Lynn Storing (nee Austin)
Cheryl Lynn Austin Pickett Storing went peacefully to be with the Lord on Monday, January 24, 2022 in Shawville, Quebec surrounded by loved ones. She was born on April 12, 1949 in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Hoyle Price Sr and Margaret Elizabeth Shepard Austin. She was preceded in death by her husband of 23 years, Gerald A. Storing and husband of 24 years, George W. Pickett, Jr.; and her brothers, Hoyle Price Austin, Jr. and Jerry N. Austin. She is survived by her children Michael Pickett, Stacey Keeley (Mike), Jason Pickett (Kylene), Gerald Storing, Jr. (Heidi), and Elizabeth Storing (Mark); seven grandchildren Gabrielle Gantt, Rachael Pickett, Brianna Pickett, Victoria Houle, Celina-Ashley Storing, Vincent Storing, and Sophie Meunier; four great grandchildren; and many dear friends. Cheryl was part of the first graduating class of South Carroll High School in Sykesville, Maryland and went on to nursing school. She enjoyed a nearly three decade career in nursing at Springfield Hospital Center, most recently on the Deaf Unit utilizing her sign language skills. In her retirement, she was able to live out her childhood dream of owning a beautiful horse farm for nearly 13 years. Most recently, she began honing her musical skills by taking fiddle lessons and spending time at the local Hooley. She enjoyed fellowship at the New Hope Christian Fellowship Church in the town she came to love so dearly, Shawville. But perhaps her greatest joy was simply spending time with her friends and family.
Friends may call at Hayes Funeral Home, 134 Centre Street, Shawville, Quebec on Saturday, May 21, 2022 from 10 am to 12 pm followed by a Funeral Service in the Chapel at 12 pm. .
