Nécrologie de John Drummond Carmichael
It is with profound sadness that the family of John Carmichael announce his passing on Friday, October 15th, 2021 in his 81st year.
John was the son of the late Gilbert Carmichael and late Margaret “Peg” Drummond. Much loved husband for 51 years of Marguerite (Moyle). Doting and adoring father of Rob, Heather and Shannon. Cherished big brother of Jim (Diane). Admired brother-in-law of Betty, Mary Bea, Norma, Tom and predeceased by Eddie, Lennie and Murray. Loving and supportive uncle to his nieces and nephews. Lifelong friend to his fellow Bristol boys: Wayne, Hughie, Les and George.
John was a “Prince among men”. Kind-hearted to a fault, John was patient, even-tempered and loved by all who made his acquaintance. Ever devoted to his community, John could always be counted on to help those in need. An active member of the Shawville Lions Club for 57 years, serving on the board of the Pontiac Reception Center, or simply helping with an electrical issue, John was always a dependable phone call away. John was an avid outdoorsman and long-time member of the Earley Lake Fish and Game Club. However, family came above all.
Friends may call at Hayes Funeral Home, 134 Centre Street, Shawville, Quebec on Thursday October 21st from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. A Lions’ Service will be held at 8 p.m. A funeral service will take place on Friday, October 22nd 2021 at St. Edward’s Church, Bristol, Quebec at 2 p.m. Private interment to follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Pontiac Community Hospital Foundation or the Shawville Lions Club would be greatly appreciated.
“Now cracks a noble heart. Goodnight, sweet prince; And flights of angels sing thee to thy rest.”
~ William Shakespeare
