Isabel Elliott (nee Barber)

Nécrologie de Isabel Jean Elliott (nee Barber)

Peacefully on the morning of Wednesday August 25th 2021, Isabel Jean left us to be with Bud, her beloved husband of 71 years and her daughter Lynn Lang.

Her kindness and selflessness made her a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.  She leaves an indelible impression on all that she touched, family most of all. Predeceased by her loving husband, Bud Charles Elliott (January 3, 2012 ), her daughter Lynn Lang (December 23, 2012), her parents Bruce and Mae (Palmer) Barber and 10 siblings.   She is survived by her loving daughters Marsha (Myles Richardson) and Barbara (John Carson), her son Charles (Elizabeth Bronson) and son-in-law Elwyn Lang.  She leaves behind great memories in her grandchildren Angel, Robert, Ralph, Alyssa, Andrew, Charles and Candis.  For her great grandchildren Grayson, Abigail, Payton, Kendal, Ryan, Marissa, Gibbson, Elliott, Ben, Nate, Joe, Addison, Garrett, Ellie, Violet, and Lucky she leaves love and pattern to follow in life. She also leaves behind one sister Lois (late Bill Callaghan) and many nieces and nephews, great and great great.

Our father, Bud was the lighthouse of our family.  His light shone bright and drew most of the attention.  Mom was the rock upon which that light house stood.  She kept it steady and ensured the light that shone was such as to keep us pointed in the right direction and to keep us safe. She was the soul of our family.  Mom was a woman of faith, compassion, determination and strength of character. She was a strong community member and her and Dad loved Stark’s Corners, and to be fair, Stark’s Corners and its community loved them back.  On behalf of our entire family we would like to thank the community for all they have shared and contributed to our collective lives.  Mom was also family oriented and had close ties with her siblings and Dad’s as well.  Growing up our best friends were our cousins, as family was held that close.

Many thanks to all the staff of Bonnechere Manor in Renfrew who provided our mother such wonderful and loving care in her last years and months.  Honestly our hats are off to them for everything, especially in these last few days.

A private Funeral Service will be held with family at the Stark’s Corners United Church.  In memory of Isabel please consider donating to Stark’s Corners United Church or Bonnechere Manor Foundation.

She will be greatly missed.
