Nécrologie de Melanie Judith Rivet (nee Stanley)
It is with profound sadness we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Melanie Judith Rivet (nee Stanley) on Friday, February 26, 2021 at the age of 59 years. Melanie was the loving wife of Denis for over 42 long years. She will be deeply missed by her four wonderful daughters Jennifer (Robert Butler), Krista-Leigh, Brittany and Katlen (Andy Dubeau), who blessed her with 19 amazing grandchildren; Cassandra, Ryan, John-Denis, Cayden, Jacey, Cohen, Mariah, Madison, Ethan, Ashton, Gavin, Brandi, Nathan, Noah, Dalilah, Brody, Peightyn, Shyann and Lauren.
She is survived by her sisters Laurel (Bob Smith), Anne (late Alex Levesque) and Susan (Brent Barnaby). She is predeceased by her parents John Stanley and Jean Draper, her brother John Jr. and her granddaughter Mariah.
While raising 4 children, Melanie still became a registered nurse. She began her career in Shawville and after many years she travelled to Louisiana, then Texas to broaden her skills and experience in high risk labour and delivery and emergency care. Upon returning to Canada, she overcame cervical cancer while living in Calgary. She later returned to her hometown of Shawville and began working in long term care. Melanie made one more career move to the dialysis unit in Renfrew before retiring. Melanie had battled with her deteriorating health for many years but always made her family her priority. Melanie was a great, caring woman who will be missed by all who knew her.
A private family service will be held at Hayes Funeral Home Chapel, Shawville, Quebec. Donations to the Pontiac Community Hospital Foundation would be appreciated.
