Its hard to gather just one memory and post it to share when so many flood me. When I was living out in Alberta we would fly her out to visit and take her site seeing through the mountains and see the mountain goats and had a soak in the hot springs. She really enjoyed the drives we would take her on.

I only knew Nora when she worked at the Legion. Just by the few chats we had I could tell how outgoing, friendly and just “with it” she was. I always enjoyed her company. R.I.P. Nora.

I remember when we taught Nora how to play the Wii.
She really liked the bowling game and in this picture, she was trying out Mario Cart for the first time.
It was pretty funny because we kept falling off that darn rainbow bridge.

My condolences Lori, Jason and family. Your mom is part of my young adult memories; dispersed throughout them. Porch parties...and I will always remember your mom singing a certain Rage Against the Machine song with us. She had a wicked sense of humour, an awesome laugh and a spicy personality. RIP Nora. Take care. xoxo

One of my best memories of your mom from spending a NUMBER of weekends at you house is Lori and I went skiing in the back woods behind the house... truth was we actually went to smoke...although always denied that we did.. just before we came in the house Lori turns to me and says...my mom is going to sniff us on our way by so we have to go into my room right away and grab the cans of hairspray and pretend we're having a hairspray fight... so we did... and she totally sniffed us! Lol!!!
Great memories of my time spent at your house... the parties on the front porch...the chats on the couch... thank you for the memories...xoxo. rest easy now

My mother was an important part of my life from the time I was a small child until now. She always showed me and my sister how much she cared for us, whether she was working all night or get up early to get our childhood day started. As a single mother most of her life, she provided for us while working a successful career at Scotiabank. She showed us that we could depend on her at pivotal times in our lives.
As we grew up and started our own lives, she kept herself busy with her community and local Legion, gardening and taking care of her beautiful home she adored so much. I can remember lots of times where she would show her love and care for us. Frequently calling on random occasions just because she wanted to share the local news or juicy tidbits she thought were important to her. She enjoyed baking muffins for her grandkids and organizing and gathering around her table for a simple thanksgiving or Christmas dinner. It became obvious to me early on that she loved being around her family and sharing good moments, and she helped us keep up those traditions.
While communication was not one of her greatest strengths and kept a lot of her emotions to herself, her friendliness and humour shinned far brighter and people around her felt her good-hearted presence. As you know, her life was filled with past tragedy and turmoil but she still managed to persevere an endure what life threw at her. Stubborn as she might have been, she somehow channelled her inner strength. She taught us you can still put a smile on your face even if you are not having the greatest day.
My mother showed her generosity in many different ways, one being her love for shopping (what women doesn’t love to shop) and I would always be intrigued on what her next purchase would be. She would buy things for everyone and loved collecting trinkets and small knickknacks, at one point they were all over her house, I couldn’t believe how much her collection had grown. I’ll always remember her “Think Pink” collection and how much she loved supporting a good cause.
You are free mom, rest in peace.
