Nécrologie de Margaret Iva Lang
Margaret Iva Lang (nee Elliott) of Shawville, Quebec, on Thursday, April 2, 2020, thirteen days shy of her 97th birthday, in hospital, after a long and fruitful life. Margaret loved having her family around her and a good visit. She was a proud farm wife, prolific quilter, church organist for over 40 years, lifelong member of the Shawville Hospital Auxiliary, Radford Anglican Women’s Guild and was honoured in 2019 for her dedicated involvement in the Volunteer Knitters for Palliative Care. Predeceased by her beloved husband of 62 years, Lawrence Elwin Lang (2007), son Jack (2017), daughter in law Lynn (2012) and infant son. Loving mother of daughter in law Elaine (Jack) Shawville, Elwyn (Heather Barr) Shawville, Joan (David Rusenstrom) Bristol, Joyce (Donnie Trafford) Carp, Carol (Norman Beck) Kanata. Devoted and proud Grandma of Ian (Terri), Paul (Melanie), Mark (Melissa); Robert (Stephanie), Ralph (Melanie), Andrew (Chrissy) Lang; Edward (Tara), Michael (Jenn), Stephen (Jenna), and Heather (Adam Sally) Rusenstrom; Sally (Shawn Fransky), Katie (Dustin Payne) and Christopher (Melissa)Trafford; Graham (Jessica), Leah (Eric Hein) and Philip (Julia) Beck. Great-grandma to a legacy of 33 great-grandchildren: Luke, Hannah, Beth, Nolan, Wyatt, Grayson, Abbie, Payton, Kendal, Ryan, Marissa, Gibbson, Elliott, Carson, Bennett, Pierce, Reese, Gavin, Garrett, Ainslei, Adelei, Warren, Jack, Laurel, Myla, Willow, Vaughn, Hudson, Oliver, Emery, Jamie, Riley and Colton. She anticipated each new addition with joy. Predeceased by brother Ardley (Isobel) Elliott, Clayton (Frances) Elliott, brothers and sisters in law: Laura (Jim Murphy), Edith (Ervine Woods), Fred (Victoria), Gerald (Lillias), Rev. Cyrus (Rose), Wallace (Inez), Ethel (John Dagg), and Hazel (Charlie Schock). She will be fondly missed by many nieces and nephews, friends, former neighbors, and the St. Joseph’s Manor “family”. A special thank you to the Caregivers at Friends of St. Joseph’s, moms home for the past 7and a half years. For their generous, loving care of our Mom. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
