Nécrologie de Lois Thompson (nee Wright)
Passed away peacefully in her sleep on March 20, 2020 in Bristol, Quebec, after a brief illness. Born in Wrightville, Quebec on March 2, 1926 to Charles and Mary Wright (Parkinson). She was the second youngest of a large family that predeceased her. Sister Olive (Ken Lyall), brothers Chris (Peggy), Ken (Ruth) Ernie (Ann), Ralph (Joan) and infant sister. Her older brother, Earle (May) was killed in Germany in March 1945 and is buried in Holland.
Predeceased by her husband, Chris Thompson in 1990, Lois is survived by her daughter Linda (John Kilgour) and sons John (Dawn) and Jim (Karol) and long time second Mom to Denis Leach. Special Granny to Jason (Kristina), Adam (Jodi), Christy (Peter Bloom), David ( Rebecca White) and Ian Kilgour (Katelyn). Loved Great Granny to Logan, Joey, Peyton and Tessa. Devoted Aunt to Earle’s daughter, Lorraine and her family.
Lois was the driving force behind Pine Lodge in Bristol, Quebec since she and Chris purchased the Lodge in 1968. She worked tirelessly for many years to grow Pine Lodge into a successful family business. Over the years she was foster Mom to more than 30 young people who needed guidance. Many of them continued to contact her after they left her care. She also held a special spot with all the staff that came through the Lodge over the years.
There will be a celebration of her life in the future.
