Nécrologie de Doreen Duncan (nee Currie)
It is with heavy hearts, that we announce one of heaven’s angels has returned home. Doreen, in her 79th year of life, passed peacefully on September 4, 2019. Gratefully, family were able to be with her before she left us. Doreen was a caring, devoted, loving wife and best friend to Douglas Duncan for 57 wonderful years. They opened their hearts and home to all who knew them ....... Family and friends alike. Loving mother, mentor, role model and best friend to her two sons Ken (Johanne) and Blair (Christina), who will miss her more than words can express. Loving grandmother to Cole and Grace Duncan, Brandon Larocque, and Gavin and Raven Kinsbury, all of whom will miss her dearly. Beloved daughter of Catherine Scott (Currie, Gilmette) and sister to Mary (MJ) Blimkie, Rita Currie (Robert Clouthier), John (Bonnie) Currie, Michael (Diane) Currie , Eileen Cormier, Caroline Taillfer and Annette Gilmette (John). Adored aunt to many nieces and nephews. Doreen was a dedicated employee with Bell Canada for 35 years, where she started as an operator and worked her way up into the ranks of management. She possessed a true love for nature and all animals (especially her cats!) Her intelligence, loving ways, quick wit and outrageous sense of humour complimented with an infectious laugh, would easily win over anyone who had the privilege of knowing her throughout her lifetime at any capacity. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, so we ask all those who wish to join us for the Celebration of Life of Doreen Duncan on Saturday, October 5, 2019 at 2 PM in Maple Grove Cemetery, Clarendon Street, Shawville, Quebec. Followed by snacks and refreshments at C355 Green Lake Road (9th Concession), “The Cottage”, Clarendon, Quebec.
A special heartfelt thanks to Doreen Mutter and Michelle Currie for being there for us. It means more to us than you will ever know.....
A special thanks to the doctors and nurses at the Pontiac Community Hospital, Shawville, Quebec and the doctors and nurses at the Ottawa Hospital Civic Campus (intensive care unit).
And an overwhelming heartfelt thanks to the friends and family who called and friends and family who stopped in to the cottage with food and baked goods. On behalf of the Duncan family, we love you all and appreciate everything you have done for us.
