Nécrologie de Lorraine Lacharity (nee Chamberlain)
Lorraine Thérèse Lacharity (née Chamberlain), passed away peacefully at age 89 on January 31, 2019 in the Wakefield Memorial Hospital. Predeceased by her beloved husband Neil Lacharity, and her parents, Elizabeth (née Brennan) and Robert Chamberlain. Survived by daughters Darlene (Chris Montague), Evelyn (Leonard Lacharity) and Sandra (Robert Rogan). She is remembered with much love and gratitude by her grandchildren Sayward Montague (David Grant), Neil-Mick Lacharity (Lori Arthur), Seamus Montague and Wyatt Rogan, and by her great granddaughter Leah Grant.
Lorraine is also survived by her sister Mary (the late Aylwin Mulligan) and brother Eddie Chamberlain (the late Audrey Rusenstrom). She is predeceased by her siblings Mildred (the late Leo Frederick), Della (the late Ernest Marengère), Garvin (Thérèse Labelle), Doris (the late Homere Larche) and Orville (the late Eunice Gracey).
Lorraine was a second mother, mentor, anchor and guide to many nieces and nephews. She was defined by her courage, humour and kindness, her hard work and fierce independence, her deep love for her family and her commitment to making her community better.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the nursing staff of Wakefield Hospital and to Dr. Véronique Bélanger Huot, for their compassionate care in Lorraine's final days.
A memorial mass will be held Saturday, May 11, 2019 in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Kazabazua, Quebec at 10:30 a.m. A reception will follow in the Kazabazua Community Centre. Private family burial will be held at Mount Carmel Cemetery in Kazabazua, Québec.
The Gatineau Valley Retirement Village (GVRV) project was very special to Neil and Lorraine.
