I do remember Sylvio's teasing and what I call dancing eyes; full of life, as was your household. Good memories. I heard rave reviews about his dedication to the welding program at PHS. His students were fortunate to have him as a teacher. The new ferry at Quyon is a testimony to his skill as a welder. It is with a very heavy heart that I write this. Sylvio was a very dear friend, the best son, brother, father, grandfather and loving and devoted husband. My heart aches for all of you, especially Di. He loved his friends dearly but his family was his “everything”. Dear Richard Family,
I would like to express our condolences at this tragic time, on behalf of the CWB Welding Foundation. He was well-loved among our staff. We had heard numerous stories about how great of a person Sylvio was and the positive impact he has had on so many people.
Also, being a former teacher at the Western Quebec Career Center, I heard nothing but heartfelt stories from his former students. He was a staple amongst the welding community in Shawville. He will be greatly missed.

Thank you Sylvio Richard for a life well lived as son, husband, father, friend, and mentor. Our sympathy to the family.
This is a tremendous loss for our community. Sylvio was always willing to contribute in whatever way necessary to help his family, friends and colleagues.
Our families became connected through our children and we are honoured to have known such a fine, gentle man.
Whether through hockey, fishing, hunting, logging, garage parties or just sitting around enjoying a get-together, Sylvio always made you welcome with a smile and enormous amounts of food!

The Richard And Telford families;
There are no words to justly express how I felt upon hearing the sad news of Sylvio's passing. I grew up with both The St-Aubin And Richard family, taught Andrea and Natalie and worked with Sylvio at PHS. He held a special place In my heart! A more genuine colleague and human being Is difficult to find. Though he didn't deserve the hand that he was dealt I understand that he now has a role to play In the Master's Divine Project .
He will be missed every day by everyone who knew him.

There really are no words to express how very sorry we are for your loss. Sylvio was one of a kind. He was the epitome of love and kindness and generosity. He put everyone's needs above his own.
