Nécrologie de Jeannette Hill (nee Chevrier)

Passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home surrounded by her devoted husband and her children. Left behind the love of her life of 64 years, Allan (Bud) Hill.  Loving mother of Mark, Lynn (Louis Chénier), Colleen (Ross Baird), Shawn (Bonnie Stone), Ronny, Donna (Stephen Lanyi) and Perry (Loida Mangaliman).

Grandma to Jennifer, Daryl, Jessica, Derrick (Mandy), Alexander, Sébastien (Armig), Véronique (Tony), Lena (Jean-Claude), Douglas, Amanda (Chris), Shawn, Allan, Steven, Michael, Chris (Heather), David, Michelle (Randy), Stephen (Alyssa) and Grandma to 20 Great grandchildren.

Predeceased by her parents Bertha Proulx and Ernest Chevrier as well as her brothers Ernest and Lorne (Lucy). She leaves to mourn her siblings Yvette (Harold), Pierrette (Jack), Peter (Elaine), Garry (Christine), Lyse (Phillip), Claire (Garry) and Denis as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family.

Jan will be remembered for her quirky humour, reading of tea leaves and her love of baking (especially her fruit cake). The family farm was host to many fun-filled weekends. Aunts, uncles, cousins and family friends shared many special musical moments around the kitchen table. Everyone was always, always, welcomed. One niece summed it up perfectly – “It was a magical place to go”.

The family wishes to thank the CLSC Home Support System. Thank you to her doctor for visiting her at home. A special thank you to her home care nurse who was with her to the end. Mom looked forward to the ladies who came weekly to bathe, wash her hair and chat.

Friends may call at Hayes Funeral Home, 134 Centre St., Shawville, Quebec on Friday, September 21, 2018 from 9 to 11 a.m. Funeral service will follow in the chapel at 11 a.m. Immediately following that, there will be a reception in the funeral home for family and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations to Villa James Shaw would be appreciated.
