My sincere condolences on Butch’s passing. I have such great memories of Butch. Butch gave me my first “wilderness” fishing adventure as A young boy when he invited my dad and I up to Bertrand lake. That exposure eventually led to me becoming a member myself many years later. It opened such an enriching fishing experience. Butch always joked about writing a book on fishing that I could eventually buy. Although had some unconventional fishing techniques, when the bite got tough, we would revert to Butch’s method-and it always produced. Butch always made time for friends-loyal, forgiving, quick to humour. He really lit up a room and was so fun to be around. He will be sorely missed though I’ll cherish those memories forever. RIP Butch.

Butch and I had a special relationship. I insulted him , he insulted me. The more we teased , the more we liked each other. His ears I will miss! I saw Butch on a regular basis for many years. The last year I didn’t get to see him as much as I would have liked to but when we did see each other the last time the conversation was way more serious than it had ever been. Karen and girls he was a great man and my thoughts and prayers are with you. Keep your memories as I know everyone will have lots of Butch stories. My girls were teased every week when we were there and they grew to “want” Butch to be home. Blake tortured Butch on their yearly hunting trips. I think the contest was on to see who could snore the loudest!

My first thought when I heard Butch had passed is that Brenda and him would be laughing up a storm over God knows what. Working with Butch at Ottawa Valley Office Supplies, along with Steve and Carole, has left me with so many wonderful memories. We all had so much fun!!
