Having retired from the CF in 2010, I have only just become aware of your profound loss and Deborah’s difficult struggle. I have known Deborah since her time on Basic Training as I was her Platoon Commander in Chilliwack and our paths crossed continually over her many years in the service as we were both Logistic Officers. I can state, without question, that she was one of the most hard working officers I have ever met. Her many commendations are testament to her achievements. On a personal level, she and I always took the time to sit and chat when we encountered each other and I will treasure those memories. I also have a ton of amazing pictures of her on basic training and the many pranks she pulled while there. She was truly one of a kind and will be greatly missed by those who really knew her.

My deepest sympathies on the passing of your sister/aunt/daughter. I am so glad our paths crossed, and that I had a bit of time to see Deborah's (or as many called her at 8 Wing - Debbie, Deb)(or ma'am) personality and work ethic in motion. She was one smart cookie. And she kept long hours to get things done. She had a great sense of humour, and was a vast wealth of knowledge. She was also a force to reckon with. The world needs more forces to reckon with that have the integrity of Deborah.
Wish I could have been involved with her walking group, as that would have been exceptionally fun to share some of her time and knowledge in that setting.
She will be remembered by many. There are not many who pass this way who are her equal intellectually, plus have her compassion and sense of duty all wrapped up in one dynamic package that is Deb Miller. Her legacy will live on.

My sincerest condolences to Debbie's Family and Friends. I first met Debbie 31 years ago when we did the year long French Course together. Throughout our careers we crossed paths many times and I will always remember Debbie as kind, engaged and a caring person. I remember when she worked in Winnipeg she could always be counted to find an answer to my many questions. She will be missed.

I’d like to offer my deepest sympathies to Debbie’s family. She was a true leader who provided friendship and guidance and to me over the years. We served on numerous occasions together and her sense of duty before self and teamwork were exemplary. I could always count on Debbie to have my back. It is true to say, beyond words, that she will be missed. She touched so many lives in a positive way. RIP Debbie.

So sorry to hear of your loss. I met Debbie in Winnipeg while serving with the Canadian Forces. She was an excellent Military Officer. She was much more than a boss, she was a mentor, highly intelligent, supportive and generous with her time.

Dawna and family, I am very sorry to hear of Debbie' s cancer and passing. She was a wonderful person and I so enjoyed her involvement and support at the Trenton MFRC and with the Invisible Ribbon Gala. She was a generous and straight forward person. She could always be counted on to cut the crap and say what was needed. She will be missed.

I just found out about Debbie’s passing. I am so sorry for your loss. Debbie was an important part of my military life. She was the best person anyone could have hoped to work with. Her knowledge, mentoring, advice and friendship were second to none. Whenever we work late nights in the office I used to admire all of the stories and journeys she shared. She even helped facilitate my journey to Kingston to be with my wife. Rest in peace Debbie, your family and friends and colleagues will miss you dearly!
Much love, Terry

Very saddened to learn of Debbie's passing. We worked closely on at least four different occasions in Trenton, Winnipeg and Ottawa. She always impressed me with her commitment to service, professionalism, intellect, wealth of knowledge and ready wit. Moreover, her ability to juggle her military duties with her strong dedication to serving whatever community she lived in was simply amazing. She certainly embodied the Logistics motto "Servitum Nulli Secondus" - Service Second to None. Sincere Sympathy to her family.
