Nécrologie de Donald Gordon Paul

Donald Gordon Paul, 83, passed away Thursday, February 22, 2018 in Shawville Hospital.  Donald, the eldest of three children, was born February 19, 1935 to Gordon T Paul and Amy Hodgins in Shawville. Donald enjoyed a long career in the insurance business where he operated Gordon Paul Insurance Ltd. for more than 35 years until his retirement in 1995. A life-long traveler and train enthusiast, he was also an active outdoorsman spending summers at Green Lake with Shirley and his family and many Sunday/Mondays (after church) at the Lake Dumont Fish and Game Club.  Donald is survived by his wife, Shirley; daughters, Susan (Dale) and Brenda (Tom); son, Douglas (Laurie); grandchildren, Laura and Sarah Armiento; Abigail and Eric Paul; Emily Ishikawa; sister, Norma Abercrombie (late Robert); and brother, Allan (Milly).  Friends may call at Hayes Funeral Home, 134 Centre Street, Shawville, Quebec on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.  Funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 1, 2018 at 1:30 p.m. in Shawville United Church with the Reverend Richard Hollingsworth officiating.  Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery.  Many thanks to the wonderful staff and volunteers at the Palliative Care unit in Shawville Hospital. In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to the Pontiac Community Hospital Foundation-Palliative Care unit or Shawville United Church where he was a devoted member.
